I haven't had a personal post in quite some time now. There has been a lot going on in our country that I think would be wise to address. I am at times misunderstood by a few so let me make a few statements before I proceed:

1. I am neither a Republican or Democrat and don't think that our current problems are the fault of the current administration alone.

2. I am not a racist. I did not vote for President Obama because he is too liberal among other things, not because of his skin color. I agree with much that Alan Keyes holds to and may very well have voted for him if he was on the recent ballot.

3. I do not believe all conspiracy theories are true and don't know if any of them are true. I post some of the videos and articles in that catagory for information, consideration, and as a 'just in case it's could happen' scenario.

Having said these things though, I think someone would have to have their 'head in the sand' to not believe that there are serious problems that will most likely bring about some major changes to our way of life. I have been doing what I can to prepare my family for a 'worse case scenario' with our economy and government. I don't advocate a violent revolution but I also don't think we as Christian Citizens are required to submit to the government if they are not following the Constitution of the United States since they have sworn to uphold it.

I think the signs and conditions exist for a major economic collapse and think it's possible that it's what the 'powers that be' want. While greed abounds with many, power and control is even a greater desire by many. They seem to want a one world government that would begin with or include a North American Union, and they have been concerned about population growth for a while now. According to the U.S. Debt Clock (www.usdebtclock.org) we are over 12.1 TRILLION dollars in debt as a nation, which breaks down to over 39K per citizen and over 111K per taxpayer. Come on people, what do we think this will come to? China is our biggest creditor nation, and it is not easy to find products that are not made in China with the exception of food.

I think that most of of our elected officials (regardless of party affiliation) need to be voted out of office and that we need to repent of our 'two party system' mentality. I don't think capitalism is a perfect system, but socialism just won't work in a sin cursed society. I think patriotism is good, right and important, but I also think that some blur the line of Christianity and Patriotism.

I do believe that Christians have a responsibility and privilege to be active in the poitical process since God in His providence has ordained our type of government. But I don't believe that worship services should be replaced with political pep rallies. If Christians cooperating with other religions and groups prevent them from sharing the gospel with them, then they shouldn't work with them in my opinion. I think we should return to or continue to legislate morality but it is only the gospel accompanied by regeneration of the Holy Spirit that will change hearts, lives and society.

As Christians, we should continue to trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, and look forward to being with Him for eternity. This world is not our home, we are just a passin' through :-). We are ambassors for Christ here and citizens of Heaven. Indeed, we are in the world but not to be of the world. But we are IN THE WORLD. We do what we can when we can by the grace of God, while realizing that God is in sovereign control and has His plans and purposes. Most Christians have probably been influenced by our culture almost as much if not just as much as non Christians. I think that pastors and Christians should inform and try to prepare people for what may be coming, just in case it indeed does happen. And by the way, I also don't think that if these things do happen to our country, it means it's necessarily 'Rapture time.' This is our country and I love it under God. But we are not better than any other country that has gone or is going through times of tribulation. Remember, God's word does say we will have tribulation.

It Is Getting Very Serious Now

First, it was a Missouri Analysis and Information Center (MIAC) report; then
it was a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) report; now it is a New York
congressman's bill. Each of these items, taken on their own, is problematic
enough; taken together they portend "a clear and present danger" to the
liberties of the American people. It is getting very serious now.

As readers may recall, the MIAC report profiled certain people as being
potential violence-prone "militia members": including people who supported
Presidential candidates Ron Paul, Bob Barr, and myself. In addition, anyone
who opposed one or more of the following were also included in the list: the
New World Order, the U.N., gun control, the violation of Posse Comitatus,
the Federal Reserve, the Income Tax, the Ammunition Accountability Act, a
possible Constitutional Convention, the North American Union, the Universal
Service Program, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), abortion on demand,
or illegal immigration.

The MIAC report prompted a firestorm of protest, and was eventually
rescinded, with the man responsible for its distribution being dismissed
from his position. The DHS report profiled many of the same people included
in the MIAC report, and added returning Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans as
potentially dangerous "extremists."

As I have said before, it is very likely that when all of the opinions and
views of the above lists are counted, 75% or more of the American people
would be included. Yet, these government reports would have law enforcement
personnel to believe we are all dangerous extremists that need to be watched
and guarded against. If this was not bad enough, a New York congressman has
introduced a bill in the House of Representatives to deny Second Amendment
rights to everyone listed above.

According to World Net Daily, May 9, 2009, "A new gun law being considered
in Congress, if aligned with Department of Homeland Security memos labeling
everyday Americans a potential 'threats,' could potentially deny firearms to
pro-lifers, gun-rights advocates, tax protesters, animal rights activists,
and a host of others--any already on the expansive DHS watch list for
potential 'extremism.'

"Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., has sponsored H.R. 2159, the Denying Firearms and
Explosives to Dangerous Terrorists Act of 2009, which permits the attorney
general to deny transfer of a firearm to any 'known or suspected dangerous
terrorist.' The bill requires only that the potential firearm transferee is
'appropriately suspected' of preparing for a terrorist act and that the
attorney general 'has a reasonable belief' that the gun might be used in
connection with terrorism.

"Gun rights advocates, however, object to the bill's language, arguing that
it enables the federal government to suspend a person's Second Amendment
rights without any trial or legal proof and only upon suspicion of being
'dangerous.'"

WND quotes Gun Owners of America Executive Director Larry Pratt as saying,
"By [DHS] standards, I'm one of [DHS Secretary] Janet Napolitano's
terrorists. This bill would enable the attorney general to put all of the
people who voted against Obama on no-gun lists, because according to the
DHS, they're all potential terrorists. Actually, we could rename this bill
the Janet Napolitano Frenzied Fantasy Implementation Act of 2009."

Pratt was also quoted as saying, "Unbeknownst to us, some bureaucrat in the
bowels of democracy can put your name on a list, and your Second Amendment
rights are toast." He went on to say, "This such an anti-American bill, this
is something King George III would have done."

Now that DHS has established both a list and a lexicon for "extremists," it
looks to Congress to confer upon it police-state-style powers through which
these individuals may be disarmed and eventually done away with. Rep. Peter
King is accommodating this goal with H.R. 2159.

Let me ask a reasonable question: how long does anyone think it would be,
after being profiled by DHS and denied the lawful purchase of firearms, that
those same people would be subjected to gun confiscation? And how long do
you think it would be before DHS began profiling more and more groups of
people, thus subjecting them to gun confiscation?

This was exactly the strategy employed by Adolf Hitler. The Jews were the
first people denied their civil rights--especially the right to own and
possess firearms. Of course, after disarming Jews, the rest of the German
citizenry was likewise disarmed. And we all know where that led.

I'm not sure how many of the American people realize that it was the
attempted confiscation of the colonialists' cache of arms in Concord,
Massachusetts, that started America's War for Independence. Yes, my friends,
it was attempted gun confiscation that triggered (pun intended) the "shot
heard 'round the world." And now it would appear that, once again, a central
government is on the verge of trying to deny the American people their right
to keep and bear arms.

I am told that as of 2004, 50% of the adults in the United States own one or
more firearms, totaling some 270 million privately owned firearms
nationwide. I would venture to say that the vast majority of these gun
owners would find themselves matching the DHS profile of a potential
"extremist." I wonder how many gun owners realize the way they are now being
targeted by their government, and just how serious--and how close--the
threat of gun confiscation has become?

If one doubts the intention of the elitists in government today to deny the
American people their right to keep and bear arms, consider what former
Secretary of State Henry Kissinger is purported to have said just a couple
of weeks ago. Kissinger attended a high-level meeting with Russian President
Medvedev that also included former Secretaries of State James Baker and
George Shultz; former Secretary of Defense William Perry; and former Senator
Sam Nunn. Included in the discussions was Kissinger's assertion that the
American people were now ready to accept a "New Global Order." He is also
reported to have told Medvedev, "By September we'll have confiscated all
privately owned guns so it really doesn't matter what we do, we'll still be
in charge." (Even though the national news media has not reported this
statement, the Internet is abuzz with Kissinger having said it. Whether
Kissinger actually made that statement or not, he, and rest of his ilk, have
repeatedly called for a New World Order, in which there will be no
constitutional protection for the right to keep and bear arms.)

This leads to a very serious question: how many of America's gun owners
would allow their government to deny them gun ownership? Further, how many
would passively sit back and allow their guns to be confiscated?

As humbly and meekly as I know how to say it: as for me and my house, gun
confiscation is the one act of tyranny that crosses the line; debate,
discourse, discussion, and peaceful dissent cease and desist at that point.
I say again, it is getting very serious now.

Larry King: Since you were last on, we have sworn in our first African-American president. What are your impressions [of Barack Obama]?

Joel Osteen: Well, I think he's doing a great job. I'm impressed with his skill, his calmness, his just strength under pressure. These are tough times for him.
King: And you, Victoria?

Victoria Osteen: I've been really impressed. In fact, I've been impressed [with] the first lady. She stepped up, and she's done a remarkable job.

King: Recent polls show 12 percent of Americans still believe Obama is a Muslim, and 35 percent say they don't know his religion, but to most of them it don't matter. Should it matter?

Joel Osteen: Well, it matters to me. It matters to me that I know he loves the Lord, and I think it's important that he has convictions from his faith. So to me, it matters when I'm making my personal decisions.

King: Does it matter to you, Victoria?

Victoria Osteen: It does. It matters to me. ... I believe he is a Christian.

King: The 'Hope for Today Bible.' This is a new Bible [from you]. How is this different from other Bibles?

Joel Osteen: It's a living translation of the Bible, which is an easy version to read. And then it's got our notes besides certain passages. And it's just to help people maybe to understand the Bible a little bit easier.

King: Do you think that eventually many more states are going to allow same-sex marriage?

Joel Osteen: You know, I don't know where it's all going ... I'd love to see it stay between a male and a female, not knocking anybody else.

King: Supposing there were more states that had it. What would be the harm?

Victoria Osteen: We really want to see marriage between a man and a woman. There [are] going to be people who get together and have relationships and have what they call their families. But I just think marriage should be sanctified by the church. It should be between a man and a woman.

King: Should a gay couple be allowed to adopt?

Joel Osteen: I think that, again, it's best for a male and a female. I'm not saying that gay people aren't good people. ...

King: Or good parents.

Joel Osteen: Yeah, exactly. But again, I like to shoot for God's best, and that is a father and a mother in the home. It doesn't always happen. I know a lot of people raised by single parents. And you know what? We bless them and pray for them as well. But I think God's best is a male and female.

King: In the new issue of Newsweek, the lead story by Jon Meacham is 'The Decline and Fall of Christian America.' Just off the premise of that headline, do you accept that? That Christian America is in trouble?

Joel Osteen: I'm trying to think where he's coming from. ... I see faith in America at an all-time high.

King: The Newsweek article quotes our Albert Mohler Jr. And he's president of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. And he said, "The so-called Judeo-Christian consensus of the last millennium has given way to a post-modern, post-Christian, post-Western cultural crisis which threatens the heart of our very culture."

Joel Osteen: Well, he's a smart man and I respect him. You know, maybe what he's saying is true. ... America is more diverse than it was 50 years ago. And I don't know that that means we as Christians are any less. I would like to think our influence is still there. ... And I'm sure I'm an optimistic by nature.

King: What do you make of these mass shootings?

Joel Osteen: You know, it's really sad. People get deranged. People get confused. ... I believe there are dark forces in our world. There are evil forces that, unfortunately, we can give into. And some of it is just from depression, just that mental illness.

King: Do you pray for them, Victoria? The shooters?
Victoria Osteen: Oh, absolutely. You've got to pray for them. They're obviously tormented. They're deceived and not cherishing life. ... So yeah, we do pray for them.

King: We've had a mass depression in this country, recession. Do you think that might be at the core of some of these things?

Victoria Osteen: I think it is. When you've lost your job and you've just been beaten down and you don't see any future, it's easy to start letting those negative thoughts play. ... You don't have anything to live for. It's never going to get any better. And I think that if you don't watch it, you'll just spiral down and down and down. And that is why we feel so strongly about just giving people hope. Even at your lowest moment, you never know what God can do. He can turn any situation around. You can be just one night from getting the break you need, getting the job you want.

Honolulu, HI -- Questions about where Barack Obama was born and if he is eligible to become President are reaching fever pitch after every hospital in Honolulu, HI has denied he was born in any of them!

In order to be President of the United States, the Constitution requires a candidate to be "a natural born" citizen. Allegations arose over a year ago that Barack Obama was born in Kenya and is thus ineligible to be President.

While the so-called "main stream" media has totally ignored the issue, the internet media is blazing with information about it.

If Barack Obama cannot prove he is a "natural born citizen" prior to Inauguration day, he cannot be allowed to be sworn in. Period.

I earnestly hope our legal system, through the courts, handle this matter so that We The People don't have to step in and settle this the hard way.

U.S. FALLING APART! "HUNDREDS OF BANKS" APPLY FOR FEDERAL HELP

The march toward complete financial collapse of the USA is accelerating out of control. According to the US Treasury, "hundreds of banks" have asked for emergency help from the government.

To help you understand the frightening implications of this, consider the following:

Since the "financial crisis" began in September, The Treasury Department has injected $150 billion in capital by buying preferred shares in 52 institutions. 52 banks, $150 billion.

Todays news that "hundreds of banks" are now in danger of failing caught my attention, so I contacted my sources inside the Treasury and I almost fell over when they told me: "Five hundred twenty additional banks are failing; ten times the number of banks that have already been bailed out."

Do the math: If 52 banks needed $150 billion, 520 banks could translate into one point five TRILLION.

That isn't the worst of it. The chart below (click image to enlarge) shows that our nation has already committed EIGHT POINT FIVE TRILLION to the financial mess and of that, they've already disbursed THREE POINT TWO TRILLION.
Ask yourself this simple question: Where are they getting this money? The simple answer: They're printing it.

Let's not forget that the money listed above is ON TOP OF the ten trillion dollars the government already owes from past deficit spending!

Do the math again:
$1.5 Trillion needed for another 520 failing banks
$8.5 Trillion committed to more financial bailouts
$10 Trillion in national debt from years of deficit spending.

$20 TRILLION dollars in total (so far)

Let me put this in better perspective for you. $20 Trillion dollars divided up among each of our 300 million citizens amounts to sixty-six-thousand, six-hundred sixty-six dollars ($66,666.) for every man, woman and child! Wow. That's like a satanic number!

Need further perspective? If you took a loan for the $66,666 at one percent (1%) interest per year for ten (10) years, you would need to pay $584.06 per month for you, your wife/husband and each one of your children! For my family (Me, Wife, one son) that would be 1752.08 per month for ten years!!

You're a smart person. I know you're smart because you read this blog! As a smart person ask yourself: How long is it going to be before the rest of the world says to themselves "The USA is totally bankrupt, they can't even hope to repay all the money they've borrowed, the US dollar isn't worth the paper its printed on because they printed so much of it, we're not going to accept it as money anymore."

I'll tell you how long it will be: The end of February or early March 2009. Best case? Late June, 2009. That's it.

At this point I think it is worth reminding all of you that in December 2007 and January, 2008, I warned everyone via my radio show and web site that "September is going to see major financial upheaval." I told everyone when and why. It happened exactly as I warned. So I hope you heed my warning about total financial collapse early next year.

That's when the shit is really gonna hit the fan and this nation will fall into complete, total, economic collapse. A collapse brought about by our own federal government spending us into oblivion.

Why do you think they re-deployed an active duty Army Combat Brigade with 4700 troops and support personnel from Iraq back here to the USA? Why do you think the Pentagon announced yesterday they are going to increase the number of combat troops inside the US from its present 4700 up to 20,000? They KNOW the shit's gonna hit the fan.

When the economy fails -- and it will -- they are terrified about what We The People might do.
They are afraid we might (rightfully) blame the government for wrecking our nation and that we might take retribution upon them by force.

It's good they're afraid. They ought to be.

I have compiled a compete list of the home addresses of every member of the House of Representatives, every member of the U.S. Senate, all nine Justices on the Supreme Court and a slew of other federal Judges in the various Circuit Courts of Appeal and District Courts.

I have the home addresses of all the members of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors and every key person at every regional federal reserve bank.

When the shit hits the fan, I am going to publish those addresses so the folks out here in the real world who have suddenly found they've lost everything, can pay a visit to those responsible for it!

Oh, and in case you folks in law enforcement think you can grab me up and throw me into some dungeon to prevent the release of that info. . . . . . I've already distributed CD's with the info to quite a number of people whom I trust. They, in turn are making copies and sending those to people they trust.

The CD's were sent with instructions to IMMEDIATELY disseminate that info as soon as they hear I have been grabbed.

So there is no way at all the government can prevent "being held accountable."

I am also presently researching the home addresses of all the Bankers and other financial hot shots involved in stocks, bonds, money markets, mutual funds and the like. Their home addresses are going out too!

When the whole system collapses, it won't just be government types that get paid a visit; it will be the financial hot shots too.

There's going to be retribution for the destruction of our financial system and our country. Nothing can prevent that retribution -- except if they find some way to stop the financial catastrophe they have caused. I wish them luck.

Gov't Tells Youtube to shut me off over AMERO

I found out this morning that my account at YouTube has been permanently shut off at the request of the United States government!

According to Keith in YouTube/Google client services, officials from the United States Treasury Department visited YouTube/Google yesterday evening and allegedly told YouTube/Google that my video exposing plans to exhaust the U.S. Dollar and replace it with the AMERO (seen by over 600,000 people) "was destabilizing the U.S. Dollar."

They asked YouTube/Google to pull the video and permanently prevent me from uploading other videos to their system because "my material is subverting the federal government and is thus a threat to national security."

YouTube/Google pulled the video and shut off my account.

An Amero Dollar?

I received the following forwarded e-mail. For most of us citizens, there is no way to know whether these things are true. But I don't think we should be so quick to dismiss all of these so-called "conspiracy theories." I also think we need to use wisdom about how to prepare for life in our country and world changing from what we have known it. In my opinion it will change. How much and in what ways, I don't know. But is it not trusting in the Lord to try and make provisions for our families or is wisdom to use the means He has blessed us with? Please let me know your thoughts about this. North Bergen, NJ -- To the chagrin of the government, I have obtained new "AMERO" paper currency notes! You know, the "AMERO" . . . . the new currency that is going to replace the US Dollar, The Canadian Dollar and the Mexican Peso? Yea, the new currency that all three governments claim doesn't exist. . . . I have it. Here's what a 50 Amero note looks like:

In September, 2007 - over a full year ago - I first broke the story about AMERO coins being minted secretly at the Denver Mint. After that story ran, the Denver Mint announced on its web site that they were closing public tours of the Mint for 10 - 14 days in order to make renovations to the tourist area of the mint.

My sources inside the Mint, however, reported Treasury officials were outraged that someone had leaked info about the AMERO to me and they closed the Denver Mint to the public so as to secretly move the AMEROS out of the Mint to prevent further leaks.

In October, 2008, I received word that the U.S. government shipped 800 Billion AMEROS to the China development bank. I did a story on that (here) and obtained an actual AMERO coin from that shipment!

I placed a video of the coin on YouTube, showing the coin and explaining that there is a deliberate effort underway at the highest levels of our government to intentionally exhaust the dollar as a currency. Over 600,000 people worldwide watched that video.

Two days ago, YouTube/Google notified me that my video had been deleted and my account permanently closed at the request of the United States Treasury Department. The Treasury department told YouTube/Google that my video was "destabilizing the U.S. Dollar and was thus a threat to national security."

Here we are, just two days later and my sources have once again come through; this time with proof the government is secretly printing new AMERO paper currency.

Not only do I have the 50 AMERO note, give look at the 20 and 100 AMERO notes below!

Not a single American citizen has been officially asked if they want a new currency. Not a single member of Congress has voted on authorizing a new currency. Yet a new currency is already being printed and quietly distributed around the world. This is being done without the consent of the American people, without a vote by Congress and has been intentionally covered up by every official who has been questioned about it.

The REASON they are creating a new currency has to do with how they plan to get rid of our national debt. On October 16, 2008, the "Global-Europe Anticipation Bulletin" told its subscribers that the present U.S. Dollar will be demonetized (it won't be "money" anymore) and a new currency imposed. "Old dollars" will be devalued by ninety percent (90%).

Think about that for a moment. A 90% devaluation. That means checking accounts, savings accounts, IRA's 401-K's, Pension plans, Certificates of Deposit. . . . are all worth ninety percent LESS than previously.

This AMERO currency will allow the government to literally grab 90% of all our life savings and owe 90% less than they presently do in one fell swoop! They get out of debt and the rest of us are left totally destitute. Broke. Busted. Poor. Helpless.

I believe the people perpetrating this secret currency change are in for personal visits of a violent nature. I think there are folks out here in real America who will not take kindly to having been deliberately lied-to.

I believe my fellow Americans might -- just might -- decide it is time to . . . . . "discipline". . . . . the public officials who have undertaken this outrage without our consent.

It's a tough thing to have to physically discipline a mis-behaving adult, but I say now, I'm up for doing just that.

There are officials in this country who deserve to get the &*@# kicked out of them and I really look forward to having the chance to do it. If they think their puny little Federal Reserve Police force can do anything about it, they're sadly mistaken.

PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT THIS IMMEDIATELY. If they are already printing paper currency, the destruction of the US dollar cannot be far away. We are ALL in grave danger of losing our life savings to this currency scam.............

I friend and brother in Christ asked me what happened with the Church in Idaho and said there was nothing on either of my 2 Blogs. So I thought I'd use the response to him and post it on here. I forgot to mention in the below e-mail that the church being sovereign grace, expository preaching, and no separate children's church service, cost us some folks too.

I removed the personal references and a paragraph that was not relevant. Here it is, thank you:

The church in Idaho? When I got there we were averaging around 45 in attendance on Sunday mornings. It was about half Air Force personnel. As they gradually transferred out, we didn’t get others back in like had happened in the past before I got there supposedly. The founding pastor was a retired air force pilot but my other two elders said they didn’t think that brought people in but may have helped some other air force families stay once they visited and found out. It was town of about16,000 if you include those that lived on the base. A high percentage of Mormons and a lot of so-called evangelical churches- 2 Independent Fundamental Baptist, 2 Southern Baptist, numerous charismatic and Pentecostal churches, 2 Lutheran (one of them liberal), a couple of other liberal churches, others, and one of similar faith to our’s. Our church first began discussing the possibility of merging or closing the church in about January 2007. With discussions I had with the pastor of the church of similar faith, we found out that a merger wasn’t really an option (because of their end). So we kept in mind and prayer that we would just close down and the people would start going to that church. But what of the pastor? ;-). It sadly is difficult for 2 pastors to go to the same local church after the one closed down. Not only because we may struggle with some things, but the people too. And based on a couple of things that were told to me, our people may have wanted me to say or teach things that could have caused a problem. That’s why I said that church was of similar faith. Anyway I sought the Lord’s will about staying there, but with having to work a job that paid better to compensate for what that church was paying me (I volunteered to lower my pay package several times), it just seemed that the Lord used not being offered a job there to show me it was not meant for me to stay there. I had already talked to a manager at the dairy here when we visited in July 2007 and he even offered me a job before Nola and I left from our visit. I didn’t take it because we had just started the radio ministry and I wanted to see if the Lord was going to use that to build up the church more at Grace Fellowship. Well, our town was 40 miles from where the radio station was (Boise) and I never received one phone call from our town; all in and close to Boise. One man did come to the church via the radio ministry though. So from January 2007 I was sending out resumes to churches looking for pastors and nothing happened with that. When I contacted the dairy here again in January 2008 I was still offered a job. The Lord seemed to be blessing that opportunity and the move so we took it. The church decided to close 2 weeks after we left. I believe the word of God teaches that He has a perfect and permissive will, but I believe that is still in His sovereign control. I didn’t want to be one of those pastors that moved around a lot like many other pastors do. I was in SE Florida for 7 years and SW Idaho for 3 ¼ years. So unless the Lord shows us otherwise, we plan on staying here regardless of whether I pastor at all again, or if I do, with a new church start or an existing church in the general area.

Thanks for asking my brother. I’m going to take your name out and post this on the Blog. Maybe there are more readers in my vast readership (haha) that want to know like you did.

Let me know how things are with family and church. I want to come up to see everyone, but until I get some vacation time built up and the house in Idaho rented out or sold, that will not happen for a while yet. You are welcome down here anytime. Reducing America: So It Can Be Merged

As I write, the treason Senate – under intense pressure from Communist world government traitor Smirk W. Bush – is preparing to pass the legislation that will legalize the present invasion of these united States. So here let me repeat something I have said many times, which nevertheless deserves repetition even more because it is so little mentioned, even by our friends.

The goal of the conspirators from the beginning has been to submerge and dissolve our country in a totalitarian socialist world government they would run. But they had a problem. Go back to World War II. When it ended, these united States indisputably comprised the most powerful country on earth.

Unlike most of the other participants, our homeland was completely undamaged. We had most of the gold. No other country even came close. The problem was that you can’t merge a country at the pinnacle in everything with other countries at the bottom. That would be like trying to moor the Queen Elizabeth in a Dixie Cup. You could only merge them when they are sufficiently alike. So what would you do if your goal were world government?

One thing you could try is raising the levels of the countries on the bottom. The conspiracy for world government has tried doing that with programs like foreign aid; the problem is that the nations on the bottom tend to consume any help and stay where they are. Generally, they are bottom feeders. Instead, what about trying to reduce these united States, trying to lower its standard of living so that it corresponds better with the nations at the bottom?

At the Bretton Woods Conference in New Hampshire, the newly created International Monetary Fund, run by Assistant Secretary of the Treasury Harry Dexter White, a Soviet spy, arranged to deplete our gold supply. Years later, in a speech lauding IMF, Jack Kennedy interrupted his womanizing long enough to explain that the loss of our gold was not an accident, but the product of a carefully orchestrated plan.

In recent years, we saw the departure of our industry, thanks to agreements like NAFTA. Not to worry, they told us. Industry will be replaced by a “service economy.” Let the poor benighted slobs in other countries do the hard work. We here shall sit at desks in white shirts and work with computers. But then the service jobs departed. Now, when you talk with somebody at your credit card company, he or she is probably sitting at a desk in India, doing the job you were supposed to do.

And now comes the invasion from Mexico. Consider that a military invasion of our country could not get off the beach in Santa Monica. The invaders would be exterminated by .50 caliber rednecks the government has not been able to disarm. But speculate with me. Suppose you could mount an invasion that is not an invasion, an invasion in plain clothes, for which you could concoct a superficial, “humanitarian” excuse.

In fact, suppose your invasion conformed to the findings of Antonio Gramsci, founder of the Italian Communist Party, who said that because no military invasion of the advanced countries could succeed, the traditional Communist method of conquest must be reversed. Instead of seizing a country militarily, as in undeveloped Russia, and then perverting its institutions; in the advanced countries the Communists would first seize and pervert and subvert the institutions. Eventually, the government based on those rotting institutions would collapse.

In other words, the world government conspirators decided to use the technique of population replacement, a modern term for which is genocide. Our country is full of unreconstructed soreheads, people who still believe in the Constitution, many of them military veterans and dangerous. Even some of the women are armed. It would be too risky to try to remove them. Instead, the Gramsci technique would have them overrun.

What is the effect of the present invasion? Yes, it involves Mexicans. Remember that Mexico suffered a Communist revolution even before Russia. But Mexicans are simply the tool; they are fellow victims, victimized by their own socialist government. The conspiracy for world government is using them simply because they are there.

Is not our standard of living falling? Dad used to support the family alone. Now Mom has to pitch in. Pretty soon even the kiddos will have to contribute. Your waitress is so intelligent because she has a graduate degree. Yes, because the system is so gargantuan and has been running so long, inertia will keep it going for a while, but the telltale signs of degeneration are everywhere. Is not the dollar on the way down?

The new Communist invasion law will expand the process, adding millions upon millions of illegal aliens to those already here, overloading our hospitals, our schools, our courts and other facilities, draining our paychecks, but far more important than anything else, reducing our standard of living and changing our culture along with our population. Of course you don’t need me to tell you this. Simply look around. Habla español? No? Well, you had better learn, compadre.

The plan is that after a while the merger will not seem so bizarre. Would you not agree that by now the idea already seems less incredible? Remember that, as we speak, about 10% of the population of Mexico lives in these united States. The Communist legislation coming out of conference committee will intrude the millions we have mentioned. After a while, you rednecks will be irrelevant. You already are close to a minority.

All of this answers the question of why the Senate votes Communist despite a literal firestorm of disagreement from their constituents, even from stalwart supporters of the Republicrud Party who at last feel disgust. With a few exceptions, your Senator is the best legislator corporate America could buy. For that America, an honest legislator is a legislator who stays bought. When Hitler and Mussolini married government and business, we called it Fascism.

Remember that for years the Republicruds told us they would restore America if only you would give them control. They have control – of Congress and the White House – they have had control for many years; yet the country is in far greater danger than it ever was under the Democruds. Smirk W. Bush is just as much a Communist as Clinton.

The latest demonstration of Bush’s treason took even my jaded breath away. By now you know that Communist Bush has ordered the Border Patrol to inform the Mexican government as to the whereabouts of America’s heroes, the Minutemen, whom Bush earlier called “vigilantes.”

This is treason almost tantamount to telling the enemy where our military is during combat on a battlefield, which the Mexican border has become. Ask yourself my favorite question: How long could that order to the Border Patrol continue after Smirk W. Bush picks up the phone and says, “Stop this at once!” The fact that Bush doesn’t make that call proves the treason is what he wants. He is a Communist. He is a traitor. What does the military do with a traitor who has betrayed his comrades in battle?

Some years ago, Steve Symms, then a U. S. Senator from Idaho, who retired too soon, said in a speech that Americans peaceably solve problems in the jury box. If that fails, they go to the ballot box. But if that fails, said Senator Symms, they go to the bullet box. My fear is that the pressure will intensify, and that someone who is threatened by the invaders will fire the second shot heard ‘round the world, which would give Communist Bush the excuse for the martial law he wants.

By invoking the Executive Orders already in place, he could take direct control of everything in this country, including every human being. You couldn’t eat, live, drive, talk, even walk without his permission. The merger would be complete. And it would all be legal. Would martial law be the whack upside the head that would finally awaken the American people? Nothing else has worked.

It was Soviet dictator Nikita Khrushchev, who many years ago at the Communist UN in New York, expressed his amazement at the depth of naiveté of the American people. Khrushchev exclaimed, “These Americans! You can spit in their face and they call it dew!” My guess is that today he would marvel even more.

When Your Preacher is Not John Piper

Many who have had the privilege of hearing John Piper1 preach in person would testify that it felt like a monumental event. His preaching is a powerful combination of truth and passion, leading to convicted and exhilarated listeners. After the sermon, certain hearers might leave wondering if they were just in the presence of a figure who will be talked about in future centuries.

Then they go back to their home church, where several things are different, including the preaching! Thankfully, the gospel is still proclaimed. In fact, the sermons are thoroughly biblical, but the ability of their regular preacher simply does not measure up to the phenomenal preaching they recently heard.

Unless you regularly attend the church of one of the celebrated preachers of our day, you most likely have faced a similar situation. Either at a conference or on the internet, you have heard exceptional preaching, but each Sunday you're back in your simple little home church that hardly anybody beyond your town knows about, with its "nobody" of a pastor who will probably never preach to thousands.

What if your gospel-preaching pastor is not as good as one of the great orators of our day? Is it time to sell the house, pack up the family, and change churches? No, I don't think so. But what should you do?

First, rejoice that your preacher is a man who proclaims the gospel. In some towns, finding a man who preaches the true gospel is as difficult as locating that precious new golf ball you sliced 100 yards into the thick woods! I once endured a 40 minute sermon that consisted mainly of the preacher telling about his family's vacation. Though that might be an extreme example of non-gospel preaching, too many preachers fail to speak of the holy God, sinful humanity, and the redeeming work of Christ. But not your preacher. He speaks honestly about sin, boldly proclaims "Jesus Christ and Him crucified" (1 Cor. 2:2), and then lovingly invites listeners to repent and believe. That is a reason to rejoice.

Second, recognize that certain men are uniquely gifted by the Lord to have an international ministry and appeal, but this is not the norm. The typical local church should be satisfied to appoint as pastors men who are "above reproach" in their lives, who believe the gospel and are able to teach God's Word, and who have an aspiration to serve as shepherds (1 Tim. 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9). Most preachers will not be strikingly smooth and polished. They may never be the keynote speaker at a big conference, but this is not a tragic shortcoming in your corner of God's kingdom. It is precisely His design.

Third, if your pastor is (honestly) dull, but he preaches the truth faithfully, a little statement I once heard might be helpful for you to remember: "The mature worshipper is easily edified." When hearing lackluster (even if biblical) preaching, immature worshippers will typically not listen to the message because they wish the messenger was more exciting. Conversely, mature worshippers eagerly receive the truth as it is proclaimed, even if it sounds like the preacher is reading a phone book.

Fourth, listen "outwardly" to the preaching. Here's what I mean: Sit with your Bible open and routinely make eye contact with the one preaching. An occasional nod of your head when he makes a point will encourage him and stir up his confidence. In my experiences of both preaching and listening to sermons, I can confirm that yawning listeners with glazed over eyes make mediocre preaching worse, while eager listeners inspire better preaching.

Fifth, verbally encourage the preacher(s) in your church. Every preacher who is not extraordinarily gifted has heard remarkable preaching and moaned, "After listening to that, why do I even try?!" This is a strange phenomenon, but great preaching from the renowned teachers of our day makes many "ordinary" pastors discouraged. Here's a simple way you can buoy your pastor: After a sermon, instead of just saying "Nice sermon!" as you head out the door, take a few moments to tell him what was especially helpful and/or convicting from the sermon. In the first church I served as a pastor, a particular young couple would stay after the service, about once a month, conversing with me about what they learned. These helpful conversations sometimes lasted for over an hour. Even today, I am heartened when I recall their zeal for what was taught.

We should praise the Lord for giving us outstanding, well-known preachers, but let us not forget Paul's command to Timothy, who was entrenched in a local church with pastors whose names none of us know: "The elders who rule well are to be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who work hard at preaching and teaching" (1 Tim. 5:17).

Well, to my faithful 2-3 readers :-), following what we believe to be the Lord's will we moved to Alabama one week ago and arrived this past Monday. This will put us closer to family that will be helpful due to family health issues as well as accepting a job offer the Lord kept open for me for about 7 months. Lord willing I will be starting a church in the area or be working with another church in some capacity. Please keep us in prayer as you have remembrance.

I am forming Biblically Correct Ministries (named after the radio ministry I had in Idaho for 8 months). I will be creating a separate blog relating to the progress of that ministry. I was sent a link to John Piper's video response to the controversy over "A Common Word." I am providing it here. I would go beyond Dr. Piper and say that I am not simply profoundly disappointed in the "Christian" response: I found the reply, titled "Loving God and Neighbor Together," a sad example of Christian dhimmitude. Dhimmitude is the status of monotheists (Jews and Christians, in the main) under Islamic rule. Islam severely restricts the freedoms of dhimmi peoples under their rule, prohibiting proselytization, for example, or even singing hymns too loudly. It is an attitude that is inherent in Islamic theology, and it flows from the notion that Muhammad is the final prophet, the seal of the prophets, and that sharia must be established all across the world, creating a universal Dar al Islam. I see "Loving God and Neighbor Together" speaking in dhimmi fashion for a simple reason: Islam comes after the Christian faith; Islam claims to be consistent with the teachings of the prophets, and it even claims to lead people to love Jesus Christ. Yet, it is Islam that denies that Jesus is the Son of God; Islam denies the cross of Calvary, and the resurrection; hence it denies propitiation, the gospel, and the entire heart of the Christian faith. In fact, Islam cannot define itself without doing so through the negation of Christian beliefs. I offer two citations from the Qur'an in support of my assertion:

2. Allah, the Eternal, Absolute;
3. He begetteth not, nor is He begotten;
4. And there is none like unto Him.

In blasphemy indeed are those that say that Allah is Christ the son of Mary. Say: "Who then hath the least power against Allah, if His will were to destroy Christ the son of Mary, his mother, and all every-one that is on the earth? For to Allah belongeth the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between. He createth what He pleaseth. For Allah hath power over all things."
Surah Al-Maida (5), Ayah 17

Surah 112:3 is clearly a denial of the Christian doctrine of Christ as the Son of God (though, I would argue, the Qur'an does not understand the Christian doctrine it denies, to be sure); and Surah 5:17 identifies as blasphemy (كَفَرَ, kafara) a belief in the deity of Christ (though, again, the Qur'an is in error in its understanding of the doctrines it denies). We must remember that Muslims believe Jesus was a Muslim: that he prayed like a Muslim, dressed like a Muslim, and most importantly, taught little more than this: "Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord" (Surah 5:117). Tremendous biblical truths, such as the words of our Lord in Matthew 11:27, "All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him," are directly denied (though, again, probably without direct knowledge on the part of Muhammad, who simply did not have direct access to the Christian Scriptures) by the words of the Qur'an, attributed to Jesus, "Thou knowest what is in my heart, Thou I know not what is in Thine" (5:116).
So why do I identify an attitude of dhimmitude on the part of the respondents? They did not provide a uniquely Christian response. Surely, they must know the issues that separate us (though, I confess, looking at some of the names attached, that may not be the case); so why pretend we can talk about the love of God when Christians believe the love of God is revealed first and foremost in Jesus Christ, Emmanuel, God with us, and shown in the cross of Christ, which is denied directly by Islam (Surah 4:157)? The battle is already over when, as a Christian, you start anywhere other than the central epistemological claim of our faith:

13 He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son,
14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
15 ¶ He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.
16 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities--all things were created through him and for him.
17 And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
18 And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent.
Colossians 1:13-18
Contrast this with the plain words of the Qur'an, "O People of the Book! Commit no excesses in your religion: Nor say of Allah aught but the truth. Christ Jesus the son of Mary was (no more than) an apostle of Allah...." So by seeking some kind of common ground outside of the definitional parameters of the Christian faith "Loving God and Neighbor Together" has abandoned the only message we have to proclaim to the Muslim people! This is why it has been opposed by all those I know who know Islam and see the bold proclamation of Jesus Christ and Him crucified as the greatest means of loving the Muslim people.

According to the Associated Press, "Republican presidential hopeful Ron Paul's supporters raised over $6 million Sunday to boost the 10-term congressman's campaign for the White House."

The AP report also said, "The [Paul] campaign's previous fundraiser brought in $4.2 million."

According to the Paul campaign website, "In a 24-hour period on December 16, the campaign raised $6.026 million dollars, surpassing the one-day record of $5.7 million held by John Kerry.

"During the day, over 58,000 people contributed to Dr. Paul's campaign, including 24,940 first-time donors. Over 118,000 Americans have donated to the campaign in the fourth quarter.

"The $6 million one-day total means the campaign has raised over $18 million this quarter, far exceeding its goal of $12 million."

Now, if one listens to most of the political pundits in the major media, Ron Paul is some kind of "kook," and his supporters are also a bunch of "kooks." So, the question must be asked, Just who are these kooks that are supporting him, and why are they giving Ron Paul all this money?

First, let's take a look at this "kook" who is receiving all this money. Ron Paul was born the third son of Howard and Margaret Paul, and was brought up with a work ethic in which one worked six days a week and went to church on Sunday. His first job was at age 5 helping his uncle wash bottles. He worked all the way through his youth mowing lawns, delivering newspapers, working in a drug store, delivering furniture and laundry, etc.

In high school, Ron was a track star, winning state as a junior in the 220-yard dash and running 2nd in the 440. His time in the 100-yard dash was 9.8. That's pretty good. I was never able to break 10-flat in the 100. Although, I bet I could have beaten him in the 50-yard dash.
He also wrestled in high school. Coincidentally, so did I. But here Ron leaves me: he was president of the student council and an honor student. I never accomplished that. I was just glad to get promoted to the next grade. Even as a senior statesman, Ron Paul keeps himself in terrific shape. Have you seen him lately? He still maintains a rigorous exercise regimen.

Ron's two brothers are both ministers, and he became a medical doctor.
He graduated from Duke University School of Medicine. When the Cuban Missile Crisis arose, Ron became a flight surgeon in the U.S. Air Force. He also served in the Air National Guard.

As an OB/GYN physician, Dr. Paul has delivered more than 4,000 babies, and he and his wife, Carol, have been married for more than 50 years.
They have 5 children, 18 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Ron Paul is currently in his 10th term as a congressman from Texas.

As a congressman, Ron Paul has never taken a government-paid junket.
He is not accepting a government pension. He returns a portion of his office budget every year to the taxpayers. As a member of Congress, he has never voted a raise for himself. Do you know any other member of Congress that can make such a claim? Of course you don't, because Ron Paul is truly one-of-a-kind.

Former President Ronald Reagan said this about Ron Paul, "Ron Paul is one of the outstanding leaders fighting for a stronger national defense. As a former Air Force officer, he knows well the needs of our armed forces, and he always puts them first. We need to keep him fighting for our country."

Perhaps this helps explain why many of the "kooks" supporting Ron Paul are active-duty military personnel. In fact, Ron Paul has received more campaign contributions from active-duty military personnel than any other Presidential candidate from either party.

But who are the other "kooks" supporting Ron Paul? What kind of people give more than $18 million in a quarter-year to a Presidential candidate that is almost universally ignored by the mainstream press?
What kind of people give record contributions to a Presidential candidate that is lampooned by his fellow Republican Presidential contenders?

For example, Mike Huckabee recently said he could support any of the other Republican Presidential contenders (including Rudy Giuliani), except Ron Paul. That means, Mike Huckabee would rather support a pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage, pro-gun control liberal such as Giuliani than support the pro-life, pro-traditional marriage, pro-Second Amendment candidacy of Ron Paul. Why is that?

Furthermore, why are the entire major media and establishment Republican machine either ignoring or lampooning a distinguished Air Force veteran, medical doctor, and ten-term Congressman? What is it about Ron Paul that the elite are so afraid of?

Here is something else: while Ron Paul's contributions have exploded, Mike Huckabee is all but broke! How can that be? How can a political "front-runner" be out of money, while a man who "doesn't have a chance" is breaking fundraising records?

So, who are these "kooks" who are sending Ron Paul so much money? And just why are they sending him so much money? I will tell you who they are, because I am one of them. They are rank-and-file, tax-paying citizens who are sick and tired of out-of-control federal spending and deficits. They have had it with an arrogant federal government that runs roughshod over both the Constitution and the liberties of the American people. They are people who have had enough of the IRS, the BATFE, and a thousand other federal agencies that have "erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people, and eat out their substance." (Declaration of
Independence)

They are people who see through the phony, disingenuous federal politicians who only want to fleece the American citizenry for the purpose of building their own personal fortunes. They have had it with the Military-Industrial complex that desires to build international empires at the expense of the blood and sacrifice of the American people. They have had it with David Rockefeller and his Council on Foreign Relations. They have had it with the arrogance of George W.
Bush and Nancy Pelosi.

They are sick and tired of paying outlandish taxes for a public education system that produces high school graduates who cannot read and write. They are sick and tired of working for 30 years to pay off a mortgage, only then to be forced to pay extortion money (a.k.a.
property taxes) for the rest of their lives to the feudal state. They are sick and tired of the government telling them what they can and cannot do with their own property. They are sick and tired of watching people with food stamps buy T-bone steaks and expensive Nike tennis shoes while they are forced to buy fatty hamburger and cheap sneakers.

They are sick and tired of watching their manufacturing jobs go to China and India. They have had it with money-hungry businessmen who hire illegal Mexicans at slave labor wages. They have had it with labor unions promoting politicians who support NAFTA, CAFTA, and the FTAA. They are sick and tired of being bled dry at the gas pump.

They have had it with this phony "war on terrorism" that sends trillions of dollars to nations throughout the Middle East, but refuses to close our own borders to illegal immigration. They have had it with the "war on drugs" and the "war on terror" being used as excuses to trample people's freedoms. They have it with Vicente Fox and Felipe Calderon. They have had it with Bush's North American Union. They have had it with Joel Osteen and Rick Warren. In short, they have just had it!

They also know that a vote for any other Presidential candidate is a vote for more of the same. Democrat or Republican: it is more of the same. Ron Paul, and Ron Paul alone, will bring a revolution of freedom and independence to America. Believe me, the Ron Paul revolution is bigger than Ron Paul. This is the beginning of a movement.

No matter what ultimately happens to Ron Paul's candidacy, the fight to return America to its roots of freedom and independence has started. The fire is lit. There is no putting it out. There will be other Ron Pauls, other campaigns, other spokesmen, other fundraising.
The people supporting Ron Paul will not be silenced; they will not be ignored; they will not be intimidated. In truth, Ron Paul's campaign may just be the beginning of the end of the elitist, globalist, stranglehold over America.

As one who is also fed up with the globalist goons that dominate the two major parties, I join the Ron Paul revolution and vow to fight for the rest of my life for the freedom and independence of these United States. This means I will never again support a business-as-usual, millionaires-club, globalist toady from either party ever again! I will only support candidates who are fully committed to restoring constitutional government. If that makes me a kook, so be it.

Most of us are aware that the heroic actions of a brave woman at the New Life Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado a few days ago saved the lives of perhaps scores, or even hundreds, of people. However, her bravery would not have counted for much had she not been armed.

On that fateful December Sunday, a man by the name of Matthew Murray entered the church armed to the teeth. According to press reports, he was armed with a semi-automatic rifle, two handguns, some smoke grenades, and more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition.

By the time Murray arrived in the Colorado Springs church, he had already killed four people: two at a missionary training center miles away, and two in the church parking lot. He had wounded several others. No one realized it at the time, but the man was a serial killer in the midst of a rampage. He doubtless planned to kill as many people as he could, as there were thousands of people inside the church. Had there not been an armed citizen in the church house, the death toll would have been massive.

According to church spokesmen, the congregation has over a dozen members who volunteered to serve as security personnel for the church.
Jeanne Assam was one of those volunteers.

A former police officer, Assam said, "I saw him [Murray] coming through the doors, and I took cover, and I waited for him to get closer. I came out of cover, I identified myself and engaged him and took him down." Murray died in the exchange. Although Assam shot him several times with her 9mm pistol, the coroner's office said that Murray actually succumbed to a self-inflicted gunshot wound. After being incapacitated by Assam's gunfire, Murray apparently turned one of his weapons on himself.

Chalk one up for the good guys, or in this case, good gals.

Have you noticed how the media dropped the Colorado story as soon as it was discovered that a lawfully armed citizen ended the potential massacre by using her own handgun? Had the killer been successful in murdering scores of people, however, it would have been at the top of the news for weeks. As it is, the story is already buried in the dungeon section of the news, if it is in the news at all.

One thing the national news media will always ignore is the practice of lawful self-defense. For example, most people are probably not aware of the fact that American citizens use a firearm to defend themselves more than 2.4 million times EVERY YEAR. That is more than 6,500 times EVERY DAY. This means that, each year, firearms are used 60 times more often to protect the lives of honest citizens than to take lives. Furthermore, of the 2.4 million self-defense cases, more than 192,000 are by women defending themselves against sexual assault.
And in less than eight percent of those occasions is a shot actually fired. The vast majority of the time (92%), the mere presence of a firearm helps to avert a major crime from occurring. That is what Congressman Roscoe Bartlett (R-MD) concluded after extensive research.
According to Rep. Bartlett, the number of defensive uses is four times the number of crimes reported committed with guns.

John Lott, senior research scientist at the University of Maryland, agrees with Bartlett. His book "More Guns, Less Crime" documents the fact that--instead of being a cause of crime--firearms in the hands of private citizens are actually a major deterrent to crime.

Another fact conveniently ignored by the major media is the connection between wanton killings and so-called "gun-free" zones. For an example of this, look no further than the Virginia Tech massacre. In spite of Virginia state laws that allow citizens to carry concealed weapons for self-defense, Virginia Tech forbade its students and faculty from carrying weapons for self-defense on campus. Had a student or faculty member been armed--as was Ms. Assam in the Colorado Springs attack--no doubt many, if not most, of the Virginia Tech victims would not have died. Obviously, bad guys do not pay any attention to "gun-free"
zones, except to note that such zones create a free-killing environment.

Is it any wonder that those states and cities with the most restrictive gun control laws tend to also be home to the highest crime rates? The old saying is still true. "When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns." There is another saying I like even better.
"When guns are outlawed, I will be an outlaw."

Even our Lord understood and validated the right of every person to arm themselves for personal self-defense. He said, "He that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one." (Luke 22:36 KJV) The old Roman sword was the First Century equivalent of a modern handgun.
It was the most practical and convenient form of self-defense available at that time. Also, please note that at least two of Jesus'
disciples (one of whom was Simon Peter) were in the habit of carrying their own personal swords, and Jesus never rebuked them. (See Luke
22:38.)

Jesus also acknowledged, "When a strong man ARMED [emphasis added] keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace." (Luke 11:21)

Furthermore, the Apostle Paul said, emphatically, "But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel." (I Tim. 5:8) Does "not providing for his own" include not providing protection? Of course it does.

The right and, yes, obligation of personal self-defense is entrenched in both Christian and American tradition. People who would deny citizens the right to arm themselves are either naïvely ignorant or deliberately duplicitous. As Robert Heinlein said, "An armed society is a polite society."

America's Founding Fathers agreed with Heinlein. Thomas Jefferson said, "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." He also said, "Laws that forbid the carrying of arms . . . disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes . . . Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."

Samuel Adams said, "[T]he said Constitution [shall] be never construed to authorize Congress to infringe the just liberty of the press, or the rights of conscience; or to prevent the people of the United States, who are peaceable citizens, from keeping their own arms."

James Madison said, "To preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of people always possess arms."

Thomas Paine said, "[A]rms discourage and keep the invader and plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property . . . Horrid mischief would ensue were the law-abiding deprived of the use of them."

George Washington called the private collections of arms "the people's liberty's teeth."

America must always preserve the right to keep and bear arms. To do any less is to invite oppression and tyranny, not to mention acts of violence.

Some years back, Alan Rice of the Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership (JPFO) wrote, "Since 1900 at least seven major genocides have occurred resulting in the murder of 50-60 million
people:

*Ottoman Turkey, 1915-17; 1-1.5 million Armenians murdered; *Soviet Union, 1929-53; 20 million anti-Communists and anti-Stalinists murdered; *Nazi Germany & Occupied Europe, 1933-45; 13 million Jews, Gypsies, and Anti-Nazis murdered; *China, 1949-52, 1957-60 & 1966-1976; 20 million anti-Communists murdered; *Guatemala, 1960-1981; 100,000 Mayan Indians murdered; *Uganda, 1971-1979; 300,000 Christians and Political Rivals of Idi Amin murdered; *Cambodia, 1975-1979; 1 million murdered."

Rice continued to say, "In all seven of the genocides summarized above, gun control laws were in force before the genocide occurred, in some cases decades before. In five of the seven genocides, the lethal law, the gun control law was in force before the genocide regime took power."

Rice also said, "Gun control laws are usually enacted during a crisis or a perceived crisis." He then said, "Government officials, not hate groups or common criminals, were responsible for these seven genocides. In most of these cases the murder victims outnumbered their murderers; yet they were powerless to defend themselves because they were disarmed."

Do the math yourself. Absent an armed citizen, 32 innocent people lost their lives at Virginia Tech, while the presence of 1 armed citizen resulted in 2 innocent deaths in Colorado Springs. Furthermore, the presence of over 200 million firearms in the possession of the American people has done more to keep America free than any other human element--bar none!

Therefore, to help keep your family safe and your country free, go buy a gun.

The Golden Compass -- A Briefing for Concerned Christians

The release of The Golden Compass as a major motion picture represents a new challenge for Christians -- especially parents. The release of a popular film with major actors that presents a message directly subversive of Christianity is something new. It is not likely to be the last.

Having seen the movie at an advance viewing and having read all three books of His Dark Materials, I can assure Christians that we face a real challenge -- one that will require careful thinking and intellectual engagement.

Why is this movie such a challenge?

First of all, The Golden Compass is an extremely attractive movie. Like the book on which it is based, the movie is a very sophisticated story that is very well told. The casting was excellent. Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig (the latest James Bond actor) are joined by others including Sam Elliott and newcomer Dakota Blue Richards, who plays the central role of 11-year-old Lyra Belacqua. Kidman is chilling as the beautiful but evil Marisa Coulter and Craig is perfect as Lord Asriel. Actor Ian McKellen (Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings trilogy) is the voice of Iorek Byrnison, the armoured bear.

The movie is very well done and will be very attractive to audiences of all ages. The special effects are superior to any previous movie of the type, including the Lord of the Rings trilogy (also released by New Line Cinema). Everything is in place for this to be a blockbuster at the box office.

Second, the movie is based in a story that is captivating, sophisticated, and truly interesting. Philip Pullman is a skilled writer and teller of tales. His invented worlds of The Golden Compass and the entire His Dark Materials trilogy are about as good as the fantasy genre can offer. His characters are believable and the dialogue is constant -- largely due to Pullman's brilliant invention of a companion for each character -- a "daemon."

The bottom line is that these books and this movie will attract a lot of attention and will captivate many readers and viewers.

So, what's the problem?

This is not just any fantasy trilogy or film project. Philip Pullman has an agenda -- an agenda about as subtle as an army tank. His agenda is nothing less than to expose what he believes is the tyranny of the Christian faith and the Christian church. His hatred of the biblical storyline is clear. He is an atheist whose most important literary project is intended to offer a moral narrative that will reverse the biblical account of the fall and provide a liberating mythology for a new secular age.

The great enemy of humanity in the three books, The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, and The Amber Spyglass (together known as His Dark Materials) is the Christian church, identified as the evil Magisterium. The Magisterium, representing church authority, is afraid of human freedom and seeks to repress human sexuality.

The Magisterium uses the biblical narrative of the Fall and the doctrine of original sin to repress humanity. It is both violent and vile and it will stop at nothing to protect its own interests and to preserve its power.

Pullman's attack on biblical Christianity is direct and undeniable. He once questioned why his books attracted little controversy even as the Harry Potter books attracted so much. He told an Australian newspaper that what he is "saying things that are far more subversive than anything poor old Harry has said. My books are about killing God."

Will viewers of the movie see all this?

The direct attack on Christianity and God is toned down in the movie. But any informed person will recognize the Magisterium as representing the Church and Christianity. Of course, in our world the Magisterium is the authoritative leadership of the Roman Catholic Church. In Pullman's world it represents Christianity as a whole.

Indeed, Pullman's tale tells of John Calvin assuming the papacy and moving the headquarters to Geneva, thus combining the Catholic and Reformation traditions into one. In the movie, the Magisterium appears to be located in London. In any event, the point is not subtle.

The most direct attacks upon Christianity and God do not appear until the last book, The Amber Spyglass, in which Lyra and Will (a boy her age who first appears in the second book) eventually kill God, who turns out to be a decrepit and feeble old imposter who was hardly worth the killing.

Is Pullman's attack on Christianity exaggerated by his critics?

No -- his attack is neither hidden nor subtle. The entire premise of the trilogy is that Lyra is the child foretold by prophecy who will reverse the curse of the Fall and free humanity from the lie of original sin. Whereas in Christian theology it is Jesus Christ who reverses the curse through His work of atonement on the Cross, Pullman presents his own theology of sorts in which the Fall is reversed through the defiance of these children. As Pullman insists, Eve and Adam were right to eat the forbidden fruit and God was a tyrant to forbid them the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.

The supernatural element of Pullman's story is "Dust," which is seen by the Magisterium as original sin but is presented by Pullman as the essence of life itself. In The Golden Compass, Lyra is given an "alethiometer" or "golden compass" which is filled with Dust and tells the truth to one qualified to operate it. Readers are told that a great battle is coming in which forces fighting for human freedom and happiness will confront (and destroy) the Magisterium and God.

In the last volume of the trilogy, a character known as Dr. Mary Malone explains her discovery to Lyra and Will: "I used to be a nun, you see. I thought physics could be done to the glory of God, till I saw there wasn't any God at all and that physics was more interesting anyway. The Christian religion is a very powerful and convincing mistake, that's all."

Is there more to the larger story?

Yes, and it has to do with sex. Surprisingly graphic and explicit sex. Pullman believes that the Christian church is horribly repressive about sex and that this is rooted in the idea of the Fall. As he told Hanna Rosin of the Atlantic Monthly, "Why the Christian Church has spent 2,000 years condemning this glorious moment, well, that's a mystery. I want to confront that, I suppose, by telling a story that the so-called original sin is anything but. It's the thing that makes us fully human."

Puberty is a big part of Pullman's concern. Coming-of-age stories are one of the most common forms of fiction, but Pullman's packs a punch that readers cannot miss. He wants to celebrate the adolescent's arrival at sexual awareness. Remember that the child's daemon can change forms until puberty. At that point it is fixed as a single creature that reflects the personality and character of the young adult.

Puberty means the coming of sexual feelings. The Magisterium would prefer that children grow up without experiencing sexual temptation, so it is conducting an experiment in order to separate children from their daemons before puberty, when their daemon can no longer change. This procedure, known as "intercision" makes the child a "severed child" who has no daemon -- and thus no soul. The Magisterium has assigned Mrs. Coulter the job of abducting the children and taking them to the North for this experiment.

As Mrs. Coulter explains to Lyra (who is revealed to be her own daughter) in the first book: "All that happens is a little cut, and then everything's peaceful. Forever! You see, your daemon's a wonderful friend and companion when you are young, but at the age we call puberty, the age you're coming to very soon, darling, daemons bring all sorts of troublesome thoughts and feelings, and that's what lets Dust in. A quick little operation before that, and you're never troubled again."

In The Golden Compass, Lyra and her companions free the children held at this experimental station in the North and destroy it. In The Amber Spyglass, Lyra and Will reverse the story of the Edenic Fall by consummating a sexual act in the garden.

Again, Pullman is not subtle. Keep in mind that this is a series of books marketed to children and adolescents. Lyra puts a red fruit to Will's lips and Will "knew at once what she meant, and that he was too joyful to speak." Within moments, the 13-year olds are involved in some kind of unspecified sexual act.

"The word love set his nerves ablaze," Pullman writes of Will. "All his body thrilled with it, and he answered her in the same words, kissing her hot face over and over again, drinking in with adoration the scent of her body and her warm, honey-fragrant hair and her sweet, moist mouth that tasted of the little red fruit."

Just a few pages later, Will and Lyra will dare to touch each other's daemon. That passage is even more sexually charged and explicit than the first. The adolescents now know "that neither daemon would change now, having felt a lover's hands on them. These were their shapes for life: they would want no other."

What is it about Pullman and C. S. Lewis?

Put simply, Pullman hates C. S. Lewis's work The Chronicles of Narnia. He told Hannah Rosin that Lewis's famous work is "morally loathsome" and "one of the most ugly and poisonous things I ever read." Narnia, he said, "is the Christian one . . . . And mine is the non-Christian."

When the first Narnia film was released in 2005, Pullman described the books as "a peevish blend of racist, misogynistic and reactionary prejudice."

Indeed, Pullman's His Dark Materials is intended as an answer to Lewis's Chronicles of Narnia. What Lewis (and J. R. R. Tolkein) did for Christianity, Pullman wants to do for atheism.

So, what should Christians do?

A good first step would be to take a deep breath. The Christian faith is not about to be toppled by a film, nor by a series of fantasy books. Pullman has an agenda that is clear, and Christians need to inform themselves of what this agenda is and what it means. At the same time, nothing would serve his agenda better than to have Christians speaking recklessly or unintelligently about the film or the books.

This is about the battle of ideas and worldviews. While Christians will not celebrate the release of this film, we should recognize the mixture of challenge and opportunity that comes with millions of persons watching this film and talking about the issues it raises. When the movie is mentioned in the workplace, in school, on the playground, or in the college campus, this is a great opportunity to show that Christians are not afraid of the battle of ideas.

We should recognize that the Christian Church has some very embarrassing moments in its history - moments when it has failed to represent the truth of the Gospel and the love of Christ. Authors like Philip Pullman take advantage of these failures in order to paint the entire Christian Church as a conspiracy against human happiness and freedom. Of course, that charge will not stand close scrutiny, and we can face it head-on with a thoughtful response.

Some Christians have also held very unhelpful views of human sexuality. These, we must admit, would include figures as great and influential as Augustine and, alas, C. S. Lewis. But these figures, rightly influential in other areas of the faith, are not representative in this case of biblical sexuality. We can set the record straight.

Should we be concerned that people, young and old, will be confused by this movie? Of course. But I do not believe that a boycott will dissuade the general public from seeing the film. I am very concerned when I think of so many people being entertained by such a subversive message delivered by such a seductive medium. We are responsible to show them, in so far as we are able, that the Magisterium of The Golden Compass is not a fair or accurate representation of the Christian Church.

I can only wonder how many parents and grandparents will allow children and young people to see the movie and then buy them the books -- blissfully unaware of what is coming in books two and three.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ has enemies; this we know. Christian parents must be informed about His Dark Materials and inform others. We must take the responsibility to use interest in this film to teach our own children to think biblically and to be discerning in their engagement with the media in all forms. We should arm our children to be able to talk about this project with their classmates without fear or rancor.

Philip Pullman has an agenda, but so do we. Our agenda is the Gospel of Christ -- a message infinitely more powerful than that of The Golden Compass. Pullman's worldview of unrestricted human autonomy would be nightmarish if ever achieved. His story promises liberation but would enslave human beings to themselves and destroy all transcendent value.

The biblical story of the Fall is true, after all, and our only rescue is through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The curse of sin was not reversed by adolescents playing at sex in a garden, but by the Son of God shedding His blood on a cross.

So let's get our bearings straight as we think and talk about The Golden Compass. This movie does represent a great challenge, but a challenge that Christians should always be ready to meet.

Contentment and Thanksgiving

As we celebrate Thanksgiving this year, it is good to be reminded of our need to be content.
If you belong to Christ, like the apostle Paul you can and should learn the secret of a contented life. When Paul wrote "godliness with contentment is great gain" he wasn’t just speaking philosophically (1 Tim. 6:6). He had learned the secret to contentment in every circumstance of life (Phil 4:11-2). While that secret eludes most people, it need not elude any true believer. For those who are willing to learn, here are six steps to a contented life from the life and teaching of Paul.

First, learn to give thanks in all things. Paul had learned to give thanks in every circumstance and he exhorted all believers to do the same. Thankfulness is first of all a matter of obedience (1 Thess. 5:18; Eph. 5:18), but it is also a characteristic of a Spirit-filled believer (Eph. 5:18-20).

Second, learn to rest in God’s providence. If we truly know God, we know that He is unfolding His agenda and purpose in our lives. He has sovereignly determined each part of His plan for us so that we’ll be benefited and He’ll be glorified (cf. Rom. 8:28). We should not be surprised or ungrateful when we experience trials because we know that God sees perfectly the end result (cf. 1 Pet. 4:12-13).

Third, learn to be satisfied with little. Paul had learned to make the choice to be satisfied with little, and he knew it was important for others to learn to make that same choice. In 1 Timothy 6:6 Paul exhorted a young pastor with these words: "Now godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content." Paul understood that covetousness and contentment are mutually exclusive.

Fourth, learn to live above life’s circumstances. That’s how Paul lived. In 2 Cor. 12:9-10 he wrote, "Most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong."
Paul didn’t take pleasure in the pain itself, but in the power of Christ manifested through him in times of infirmity, reproach, persecution, and distress. We also should learn to take pleasure in the power of Christ in times of distress.

Fifth, learn to rely on God’s power and provision. The apostle Paul wrote, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me"; and Jesus said He will never leave us nor forsake us (Heb. 13:5). Like Paul, we can learn to rely on Christ’s promise. He faithfully infuses every believer with His own strength and sustains them in their time of need until they receive provision from His hand (Eph. 3:16).

Finally, become preoccupied with the well-being of others. Paul summarized this mindset in Philippians 2:3-4, where he wrote: "Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others."
A self-centered man is a discontented man. But the soul of the generous man, the man who lives for the interests and benefit of others, will find blessing upon blessing in his life (see Prov. 11:24-5; 19:17; Luke 6:38; 2 Cor. 9:6).

Excellent article in my opinion, and something that is indeed needful for many of us to read and hear. In reading it though, this one statement did jump out at me as a concern: "But, repentance and faith are synergistic, not monergistic." I understand what he is getting at. I would be more comfortable in saying "justification" rather than "repentance and faith" being synergistic. I think we also have to be careful in putting everyone in the same boat. For example: Greg is focusing on man's responsibility because it is often neglected by Calvinists’ (I don't like the article insinuating that those who do are hyper-Calvinists. A danger leading to it yes, but not in of itself...yet) preaching. Some Calvinist preachers emphasize God's sovereignty etc. for a while because those in his hearing were neglected that teaching because of some of their backgrounds. So in this case as well as with Greg's article, there are times when it is needful. So as it applies to Paltalk, I would say that there is need for a balance there, absolutely. But some of our rooms are set up because God's sovereignty in salvation, yea even the gospel itself in many groups are lost or in a minority.

So I think each preacher (or Paltalk room) has to be taken on a case by case situation. Again though, excellent and needful article that I have already shared with others.

Good news about Xxxxxx, praise the Lord.

I have read the information in the first two links of what you sent me so far. I’ll look at the rest of them soon. While I have not made up mind yet by a long shot, it is probably down to Paul and Huckabee for me. But one thing I will say in defense of Ron Paul that looks like may be possible in the first two posts I read, is that he is sometimes mistaken for supporting a particular issue itself when it is because of the government’s involvement that causes him to vote again such issues. No doubt that Ron Paul is both Libertarian as well as Constitutional. Sometimes his libertarian views make him look worse than he is and perhaps sometimes those same views aren’t good period. I’m still wrestling with the issue of whether we as a country should be pro-active in other country’s affairs. Things aren’t the same as they were over 200 years ago, nuclear weapons especially, amen? We say (and I’m just as concerned as the next person) that we will not let countries like Iran and North Korea develop nuclear weapons. Yet how would it have been if some country years ago did everything they could to prevent us from developing it? By the grace of God we know that the US is more sound and not radical like those countries. But from God’s perspective, it is wisdom or pride that says we have the right to have these weapons and not others? Ron Paul believes we can defend ourselves and leave other alone. I have not come up with an answer on that and I’m thinking out loud so to speak. I was telling Xxxxx the other day (by the way, I’m going to copy this to him if you don’t mind since we have been talking too) that if I’m going to be a one issue guy (Pro-Life/Anti-abortion) because of the morality of the issue, I need to be willing to vote for a guy that is pro-life and weak in other important but not as crucial issues, just like I would not be willing to vote for someone who is not pro-life yet may be stronger on the other issues. To me the murder of the unborn is the most heinous sin we are committing that neither Democrat nor Republican is really done anything about. I mentioned on the radio broadcast today that you may have heard about how almost 6 million babies have been murdered since the Iraq war. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t care about the families of soldiers that have died in this war, but it doesn’t mean that the murder of the unborn, baby which is how many times worse?--- is any less important. I am a constitutionalist, and voted along that party in 2004. Now I’m back to being an independent Party wise. Our government is wayyyy out of control in spending, taking away our liberties, and more. I’ll be just as upset as the next man if someone gets in who wants to raise our taxes. Republicans don’t raise our taxes, but they still increase our deficit. Our children are in big trouble in my opinion. Yet, I think abortion and some other social issues are of most importance. Put all of that together and that is why I have a lot of respect for Ron Paul and see this packaged in him. Both he and Mike Huckabee are pro-life and professing evangelical Christians. Hopefully I’ll be able to make up my mind within the next year J. I also gave up 4 years ago on the voting for the lesser of two evils and the best one out of who has a chance to win. I may be wrong, but I don’t see that as a biblical principle. If we applied that in many other Christian areas, me thinks we’d be in twouble J. We vote for the best person based on principles of God’s word and leave the results up to Him. Just like when we share the gospel…we plant and water, God gives the growth (results). Anyway, sorry if I got to a ramblin, LOL. Keeps that info comin in…

An Appeal To My Fellow Pastors

Recently, Iowa pastors gathered to hear my presentation in Des Moines on behalf of Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul. After listening to me, they then heard ten-term Republican Texas Congressman Ron Paul himself.

Consider how Congressman Paul's message impacted Pastor Jim Hartman of the Assembly of God church in Conrad, Iowa. "I've been supporting Mike Huckabee, but I would say I'm leaning real strong toward Ron Paul."
Hartman supported President Bush four years ago and explained, "Up until the last six months I had not allowed myself to imagine that we'd been let down by Bush." As for Iraq, he said, "I don't think we were prepared to understand that culture and to work with that culture." He said he now feels "humble and I feel kind of bad that I haven't done a better job of being faithful to Ron Paul's kind of integrity." [Source: MSNBC, Oct. 30, 2007]

Integrity: that is the issue drawing millions to Ron Paul, including young people. The night before I spoke, nearly 700 students gathered at Iowa State University in Ames to hear Dr. Paul. One of those students wrote me recently. His name is Nathan Rockman. He wrote, "As a columnist for the Iowa State Daily here on campus, I have seen first hand what can be described as Ron Paul fever. Since Dr. Paul visited this past Friday, his message of freedom and liberty has been spreading through campus like wildfire . . ."

Ron Paul doesn't recruit artisan spin writers and bloggers to wear down those who might question his past dealings. He doesn't need to.
There are no missing hard-drives, ethics violations, and taxpayer funds used for personal use that need to be spun away. He still refuses to participate in the lucrative Congressional pension fund and returns a portion of his Congressional office budget back to the U.S.
Treasury each year.

This kind of integrity moved Pastor Hartman, the students at Iowa State University, and many more like them.

Ron Paul has been fighting for the right to life from the beginning of his public career. Dr. Paul is rock-solid on pro-life. After all, he has helped over 4,000 women deliver their babies into the world in his obstetrics practice in Lake Jackson, Texas. He proposed the "Sanctity of Life Act of 2005" (and 2007), which would require that "human life shall be deemed to exist from conception, without regard to race, sex, age, health, defect, or condition of dependency." Has he recently discovered these pro-life convictions? Not at all. Congressman Paul introduced the Human Life Amendment in Congress in his very first term of Congress, a couple of years after Roe v. Wade was first handed down.

Is Ron Paul a libertarian, as some use in a throw-away line, often intended to move the listener to discard him without thought? Yes, on areas of fiscal, economic and judicial liberty, he is. But, he is also a social conservative and a Constitutionalist.

Ron Paul's priorities are right with marriage. He and his wife, Carol, have been married for more than fifty years. He believes marriage should be between a man and a woman and defends that principle with his vote, where and when he has the Constitutional authority to do so.
For example, Dr. Paul strongly supports the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). Candidly, though, Ron Paul does not believe (and neither do I) that the U.S. Government needs to be defining that which God has already defined in His Word.

Where pastors often become confused about Ron Paul is that when he is resisting the unconstitutional centralization of our federal government, he is often perceived as being anti-family. Many in these pro-family movements themselves have been co-opted into believing that the solutions to our family problems come in the form of more unconstitutional federal legislation and programs. And when one does not agree with these unconstitutional remedies, they conclude that he or she is "anti-family." Such people mean well but are confused.

America would be much better off if we Christian pastors taught the need for Christ-honoring resistance--at the local level--to anti-family federal intrusions. We should call on our congregations to vote out of office any judge who passes rulings designed to pervert the Biblical family. That doesn't take a Constitutional amendment. It just takes courageous pastors and people who understand that judges, too, must respect the Constitution and our Christian heritage.

In fact, adherence to the Constitution protects our freedom of speech and assembly; our freedom of worship; our right to keep and bear arms; our right to a trial by jury; the right to be secure in our own homes against police overreach; our right to witness for Christ in public, as a Christian; the right to own property; the right to not be deprived of life or property without due process of law; the right to face our accusers, and the right to keep government local and limited.

Keeping government local and limited is the cornerstone doctrine of American government. Ron Paul understands this more than any other candidate running today.

Most of the problems that we are now dealing with socially, culturally, financially, etc., stem from America abandoning the basic founding principle that "the government that governs least governs best."

Accordingly, America's commitment to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness has been (and is being) systematically stripped from us--not by State legislatures, but mostly by agencies of the federal government.

Consider how it has been federal courts that have banned prayer in school, and legalized abortion and homosexual marriage. Even in the liberal State of Massachusetts it was the courts (along with a compliant liberal governor, Mitt Romney), that forced acceptance of homosexual marriage upon the people.

The solutions to these problems do not reside in more federal legislation. All that does is strengthen the scope and power of the federal judiciary.

The only ones who have anything to fear from Ron Paul are those who believe in Big Government.

You see, Ron Paul is actually calling on us pastors and Christians to stop seeing the federal government as one "in whom we live and move and have our being." Jesus Christ is our Savior and Lord, not the federal government. Have we not, in a material way, set up the federal government as our functional Lord and Savior? When we look to the federal government to solve our moral and spiritual problems, that is exactly what we are doing.

When it comes to the war in Iraq, I firmly believe that Christian conservatives have been duped by the neocons. Dr. Paul--an Air Force veteran and proponent of a strong national defense--opposed the unprovoked and pre-emptive invasion of Iraq, and rightly so. Time has certainly vindicated Dr. Paul's principled position. There was a much better way to deal with al-Qaeda.

Soon after 9/11, Congressman Paul introduced H.R. 3076, the September
11 Marque and Reprisal Act of 2001. According to Paul, "A letter of marque and reprisal is a constitutional tool specifically designed to give the president the authority to respond with appropriate force to those non-state actors who wage war against the United States while limiting his authority to only those responsible for the atrocities of that day. Such a limited authorization is consistent with the doctrine of just war and the practical aim of keeping Americans safe while minimizing the costs in blood and treasure of waging such an operation."

This is precisely what President Thomas Jefferson did when America's ships were confronted with Barbary pirates on the high seas.

If the United States government had listened to Ron Paul, we would not have lost nearly 4,000 American soldiers and Marines, spent over $1 trillion, and gotten bogged down in an endless civil war from which there is no equitable extraction. Furthermore, had we listened to Dr.
Paul, Osama bin Laden would no doubt be dead, as would most of his al-Qaeda operatives, and we would be less vulnerable to future terrorist attacks, instead of being more vulnerable, which is the case today.

One thing that Pastor Hartman brought up in our meeting in Iowa was the sentiment of many Christians and pastors to defend Israel. Dr.
Paul stated that he did not believe that we do Israel any favors and we actually weaken Israel by our constant meddling and intervention. I agree.

Ron Paul is not Israel's enemy. And neither is he the enemy to Christian liberty and constitutional government.

Ron Paul's non-interventionist and constitutional foreign policy approach would help, not hurt, Israel to resolve tensions with their neighbors. Remember, Israel has more nuclear missiles to defend themselves than all of the Middle East nations combined. Believe me, Israel knows how to defend itself. And know this: America's constant meddling curses Israel more than it blesses.

Also consider this: according to published reports such as this one in the Houston Chronicle http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/politics/5223477.html , Ron Paul is receiving more donations from military personnel than any other Presidential candidate in either party. Think seriously about this.
Our active duty and retired military personnel clearly endorse with their own contributions Ron Paul's non-interventionist position above all others.

In the end, if the candidate is a sincere Christian, he will all the more readily obey his or her oath to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States. After all, does not our Lord tell us that our yea is to be yea and our nay is to be nay? In other words, genuine believers are to be true to their word. How, then, could a true Christian make a promise before God and the American people to preserve, protect, and defend the U.S. Constitution and then turn around and ignore that promise?

Ron Paul lives his Christian faith and takes his oath to the Constitution seriously. What more could we ask for in a Presidential candidate?

The Reformation was a Divine Movement
We must never lose sight of the fact that the Reformation was of God. In the unfolding of His decree, in which He works all things after the counsel of His will, human instrumentality is used to bring about the divine design. History never escapes the hand of God; it simply reflects His sovereign activity within it. As God used the prophets and apostles of old, so He used the Reformers in the sixteenth century. Luther himself said, “…that I became a monk which brought shame upon me as it bitterly annoyed my father, that I and the Pope came to blows, that I married an apostate nun; who would have read this in the stars? Who would have prophesied it?”[1] The ways of God are past finding out. At least three factors witness to the activity of God during the Reformation era.

Similar doctrinal discoveries

It is no mean fact that two men in relative isolation from each other came to the same conclusion with little help from man. The doctrine of justification by faith came to Martin Luther and Ulrich Zwingli separately, without the luxury of communicating their ideas with each other and receiving advice. J.H. Merle d’Aubigne comments:

The Reformation of Germany and that of Switzerland demonstrate this truth. Zwingle had no communication with Luther. There was no doubt a connecting link between these two men; but we must not look for it upon earth: it was above. He who from heaven gave the truth to Luther, gave it to Zwingle also. Their bond of union was God.[2]

Similar practical results

The practical results of the Reformation were strikingly similar throughout Europe. Emancipation from Medieval Roman Catholic dogma was a common occurrence on the continent and Great Britain. Some areas retained characteristics of the Medieval more than others, but on the main, a general break with the past occurred. To varying degrees, Church and State were transformed in a relatively brief time.

Similar doctrine and practice with the first century

The first century saw a band of men turn the world upside down. There was a simple devotion to the word of God and to the saints. These and other parallels between the first and the sixteenth centuries give evidence of the divine in both. Commenting on the Reformation, Philip Schaff said, “It was a revival of primitive Christianity, …”[3]

Conclusion

The Reformation was a movement of God unparalleled, except during the days of the New Testament. Let us pray and work in such a way that God might be pleased to bring about such a reformation in our own day!

Why was Oct 31, 1517 so important?
It is important, not because it was an ending, but rather a beginning. Luther’s 95 Theses, posted that day on the door of Wittenberg’s Schlosskirke, present to us a picture of a developing understanding of the Gospel in the young reformer’s mind. He had not yet worked out the full doctrine that has characterized protestant teaching, but he was well on the way. The Reformation did not arrive in a moment, rather, it extended over a long period of time. What Luther began was carried forth by many successors, in many places, for over a century and a half. We are the heirs of this movement; our fathers in the faith understood that they were standing on the shoulders of giants, pressing the program of reform into every area of doctrine and practice. October 31, 1517 is an historical marker. It is like a sunrise, the first beam of light after a long gloomy night. Christ’s Church, overwhelmed by darkness, sensed the warmth and brightness of a new day. We thank God that we bask in the sunshine of the fullness of the Gospel of Christ.

The Tower Experience, 1519

Meanwhile in that same year, 1519, I had begun interpreting the Psalms once again. I felt confident that I was now more experienced, since I had dealt in university courses with St. Paul’s Letters to the Romans, to the Galatians, and the Letter to the Hebrews. I had conceived a burning desire to understand what Paul meant in his Letter to the Romans, but thus far there had stood in my way, not the cold blood around my heart, but that one word which is in chapter one: “The justice of God is revealed in it.” I hated that word, “justice of God,” which, by the use and custom of all my teachers, I had been taught to understand philosophically as referring to formal or active justice, as they call it, i.e., that justice by which God is just and by which he punishes sinners and the unjust.

But I, blameless monk that I was, felt that before God I was a sinner with an extremely troubled conscience. I couldn’t be sure that God was appeased by my satisfaction. I did not love, no, rather I hated the just God who punishes sinners. In silence, if I did not blaspheme, then certainly I grumbled vehemently and got angry at God. I said, “Isn’t it enough that we miserable sinners, lost for all eternity because of original sin, are oppressed by every kind of calamity through the Ten Commandments? Why does God heap sorrow upon sorrow through the Gospel and through the Gospel threaten us with his justice and his wrath?” This was how I was raging with wild and disturbed conscience. I constantly badgered St. Paul about that spot in Romans 1 and anxiously wanted to know what he meant.

I meditated night and day on those words until at last, by the mercy of God, I paid attention to their context: “The justice of God is revealed in it, as it is written: ‘The just person lives by faith.’” I began to understand that in this verse the justice of God is that by which the just person lives by a gift of God, that is by faith. I began to understand that this verse means that the justice of God is revealed through the Gospel, but it is a passive justice, i.e. that by which the merciful God justifies us by faith, as it is written: “The just person lives by faith.” All at once I felt that I had been born again and entered into paradise itself through open gates. Immediately I saw the whole of Scripture in a different light. I ran through the Scriptures from memory and found that other terms had analogous meanings, e.g., the work of God, that is, what God works in us; the power of God, by which he makes us powerful; the wisdom of God, by which he makes us wise; the strength of God, the salvation of God, the glory of God.

I exalted this sweetest word of mine, “the justice of God,” with as much love as before I had hated it with hate. This phrase of Paul was for me the very gate of paradise. Afterward I read Augustine’s “On the Spirit and the Letter,” in which I found what I had not dared hope for. I discovered that he too interpreted “the justice of God” in a similar way, namely, as that with which God clothes us when he justifies us. Although Augustine had said it imperfectly and did not explain in detail how God imputes justice to us, still it pleased me that he taught the justice of God by which we are justified.

Why was Oct 31, 1517 so important?
October 31, 1517, was not a big day in the life of Martin Luther. He had no idea that posting a challenge to academic debate (the ancient equivalent of arranging an inter-scholastic football game today) would function as the spark that would ignite the powder-keg of Reform that had been built up, in God’s providence, for literally hundreds of years. It would take some time before he would realize the importance of that day, and he probably did not live long enough to truly gain sufficient perspective to see what that day meant in the history of Europe.

One could argue that there might be other dates we could choose to commemorate God’s great work of providing freedom for the proclamation of the gospel that today we call the Reformation. We could point to earlier events in the life of Wycliffe, or Hus, for example. We could look at the publication of the Greek New Testament by Erasmus. There are so many things that came together to form the foundation of the Reformation.

But history has focused upon the posting of a formal debate challenge by a monk who really had not yet come to a clear understanding of the true nature of the Church of Rome and even of the Gospel itself.

There is great benefit to be derived from digging into the background of the Reformation so that we can fully thank God for what He did not so long ago.

Why was Oct 31, 1517 so important?

The great importance of the Reformation is its clarification of the doctrine of justification sola fide. This is the cardinal doctrine of the Reformation. Building on the foundation of sola scriptura and sola gratia (crystallized by Augustine over a 1000 years before), Luther was used of God to bring a wonderful blessing to souls of sinners. By faith alone–faith resting on the finished work of Christ and receiving all from him–sinners are married to Christ so that their sins become His and His righteousness becomes theirs. Thus, sinners are justified by an alien righteousness and become at one and the same time both sinners and righteous men. In themselves outside of Christ they are sinners, but in Christ outside of themselves they are righteous. In this way those who see and feel themselves to be ungodly are able in spite of this be assured that they are accepted by God and saved in Christ.

A. Cultural Myths about Suffering

(CNSNews.com) - A conservative group says private schools and home schooling will be the only sanctuary for California parents when two "school sexual indoctrination" laws take effect on Jan. 1.

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger -- without comment -- signed four bills backed by the homosexual community over the weekend, two of them dealing with public schools. (Gov. Schwarzenegger vetoed similar bills last year when he was running for re-election, conservative groups noted.)

"Arnold Schwarzenegger has delivered young children into the hands of those who will introduce them to alternative sexual lifestyles," said Randy Thomasson, president of Campaign for Children and Families (CCF), which helped lead the statewide charge against these bills.

"This means children as young as five years old will be mentally molested in school classrooms. Shame on Schwarzenegger and the Democrat politicians for ensuring that every California school becomes a homosexual-bisexual-transsexual indoctrination center."

Current California law legally protects California public school students from harassment as a result of skin color, ethnicity or sexual orientation. The California Student Civil Rights Act (SB 777) updates specific anti-discrimination provisions that are scattered throughout the state's Education Code.

Supporters said the new law is supposed to eliminate "confusion" about the state's responsibility to ensure that all school programs, textbooks, instructional materials and activities are free from unlawful discrimination.

But according to the Campaign for California Families, for a school district to prove that there is no "discriminatory bias" in their textbooks, classroom instruction, and school activities, the district would have to positively portray various sexual lifestyles in all school instruction and activities.

Otherwise, under SB 777, schools will be subject to intimidation and lawsuits by the California Department of Education, CCF said in an analysis of the bill.

Furthermore, SB 777 would require curriculum and activities in every public school, public college, and public university to portray transsexual and bisexual "parents" as the norm, CCF said.

Free speech concerns

While SB 777 would indoctrinate via school textbooks and activities, AB 394 requires schools to publicize antidiscrimination and harassment policies in all schools and offices.

In other words, it will indoctrinate children and parents through publications, postings on walls, curricula on school Web sites, and in handouts to take home, CCF said.

CCF said that sexual lifestyles such as transsexuality, bisexuality, and homosexuality would be positively portrayed to students as young as kindergarten.

"Also disturbing is how AB 394 fails to define 'harassment,'" CCF said in a bill analysis.

"Could a parent who says marriage is only for a man and a woman in the presence of a lesbian teacher be found guilty of 'harassment?' Could a student saying that babies are either boys or girls be labeled 'harassment' by a transgender teacher?

"Poor drafting means this bill would likely infringe upon free speech in unintended ways," CCF said.

CCF says existing laws in the Education and Penal codes already prevent discrimination and harassment in the schools, making the two signed by Schwarzenegger unnecessary.

"Fathers and mothers who love their children must sacrifice to protect them from public schools, which -- as required by law -- will sexually indoctrinate them beginning in kindergarten," said CCF Randy Thomasson in a message criticizing the governor's bill-signing.

Schwarzenegger also signed a bill allowing domestic partners and married couples equal opportunity to change their surnames upon marriage or domestic partnership registration. Specifically, the bill would require that marriage license forms contain spaces for either party to indicate a change in his or her last name to his or her spouse's last name.

Conservatives complained that the AB 102 publicly creates the appearance of "same-sex marriage" by encouraging same-sex couples to publicly present themselves as "Mr. and Mr. Jones" or "Mrs. and Mrs. Smith." It dishonors the distinction of marriage between a man and a woman, CCF said.

A fourth bill signed by Schwarzenegger, AB 14, prohibits discrimination in state-funded programs and activities. According to CCF, that could adversely affect churches that operate state-funded social service programs.

"It's the height of intolerance to punish individuals, organizations, businesses, and churches that have moral standards on sexual conduct and sexual lifestyles," said Thomasson, in response to the signing of AB 14. "This is another insensitive law that violates people's moral boundaries."

"Arnold Schwarzenegger demonstrates the negative consequences of electing a liberal Republican to office," Thomasson concluded. "Schwarzenegger fooled many California conservatives into voting for him. Yet now he's flip-flopped and stabbed them in the back."
