Well, as some of you know, my wife and I were in Estes Park, CO for a pastor's conference this past Monday through Wednesday. The theme this year was "The Balanced Minister." There were 5 sessions: The Balanced Devotional Life; The Balanced Study Life; The Balanced Home Life; The Balanced Shepherding Life; The Balanced Exemplary Life. They were all very convicting. Each pastor that came up to preach on the topics were very humbled and admitted that they were not where they should be in each area. I ordered CD's for all 5 sessions so I can listen again ,and share it with the Elders or anyone else that would like to listen to them. There were also numerous reports by various missionaries in different areas of service. Italy, Spain, Philippines, Indonesia, two schools, and more were represented. I will be sharing some info with my fellow Elders ;-). The conference also got me thinking about some other things as well. Those from the church (and anyone else that wants too) please pray with me regarding some things such as: Bible Studies for couples or men, or Christian Growth, or New potential members, or any combination of them. Also, what would be good day(s) to have them. I would like to have the Christian Growth or New members study on Sunday mornings before the service, but I don't know how that has worked out in the past with the worship team practicing on Sunday mornings. Also, singing some good solid hymns at the conference reminded me to try to convince the Worship Leader to work some into our worship in song ;-). I'll give you a copy of the songs Ty. Well, better go for now. Soli Deo Gloria.....Bret
With all the discussion going on about whether Presbyterians are biblical churches because of infant baptism, I would like to ask if we believe that Arminian Baptist churches are legitimate churches? If a Baptist Church, regardless of their affiliation if any, believes in a universal, insufficient atonement by Christ, issuch Baptist Church really a biblical church? And if so, how can we say that it is when it involves the very heart of the gospel in the atonement. Further, how can we say that those Presbyterian churches that believe in a particular, sufficient atonement yet infant baptism are not biblical, yet those that believe in a universal, insufficient atonement yet believers baptism by immersion are biblical churches. Inquiring mind wants to know ;- ). Thanks..... P.S. Still Baptist and thank the Lord for it!
