Happy Reformation Day: Several Small Articles, Posts and a Reformation Polka From the Reformed Baptist Fellowship Blog

http://reformedbaptistfellowship.wordpress.com/ The Reformation was a Divine Movement We must never lose sight of the fact that the Reformation was of God. In the unfolding of His decree, in which He works all things after the counsel of His will, human instrumentality is used to bring about the divine design. History never escapes the hand of God; it simply reflects His sovereign activity within it. As God used the prophets and apostles of old, so He used the Reformers in the sixteenth century. Luther himself said, “…that I became a monk which brought shame upon me as it bitterly annoyed my father, that I and the Pope came to blows, that I married an apostate nun; who would have read this in the stars? Who would have prophesied it?”[1] The ways of God are past finding out. At least three factors witness to the activity of God during the Reformation era. Similar doctrinal discoveries It is no mean fact that two men in relative isolation from each other came to the same conclusion with

"Our View of Suffering vs God's View" By Ken Williams

OUR VIEW OF SUFFERING VS. GOD’S VIEW Taken From "Toward a Biblical Theology of Suffering" by Ken Williams, Ph.D. http://www.itpartners.org/articles/Toward%20a%20Theology%20of%20Suffering.pdf A. Cultural Myths about Suffering 1. As Christians, we should not suffer in this life. 2. When we are living in His will, living godly lives, we should experience few hardships. 3. Suffering means something is wrong. It is an abnormal state. 4. Suffering has no redeeming or positive results. 5. Suffering means we can have no joy. It robs us of the choice to rejoice. 6. Spiritual people don’t hurt emotionally when they suffer. 7. If God really loves us He won’t let us suffer very much. His love means that He will put a hedge around us to keep terrible trials from entering our lives. 8. When we do suffer, God is punishing us out of anger. He is vindictive and wants us to suffer when He is angry with us. B. How God Views Suffering 1. In fact, we are called to suffer for Jesus. Phil. 1.29, 1

Schwarzenegger Signs 4 Bills Backed By Homosexual Community

Governor Blasted for Signing 'Sexual Indoctrination' Bills By Susan Jones CNSNews.com Senior Editor October 15, 2007 (CNSNews.com) - A conservative group says private schools and home schooling will be the only sanctuary for California parents when two "school sexual indoctrination" laws take effect on Jan. 1. California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger -- without comment -- signed four bills backed by the homosexual community over the weekend, two of them dealing with public schools. (Gov. Schwarzenegger vetoed similar bills last year when he was running for re-election, conservative groups noted.) "Arnold Schwarzenegger has delivered young children into the hands of those who will introduce them to alternative sexual lifestyles," said Randy Thomasson, president of Campaign for Children and Families (CCF), which helped lead the statewide charge against these bills. "This means children as young as five years old will be mentally molested in school classrooms

No Contradictions of the Bible in the Qur'an?

Say: He is Allah the One and Only; Allah the Eternal Absolute; He begetteth not nor is He begotten; And there is none like unto Him. Al-Ikhlaas, Surah 112, Qur’an They do blaspheme who say: Allah is one of three in a Trinity: for there is no god except One Allah. If they desist not from their word (of blasphemy) verily a grievous penalty will befall the blasphemers among them. Christ the son of Mary was no more than an Apostle; many were the Apostles that passed away before him. His mother was a woman of truth. They had both to eat their (daily) food. See how Allah doth makes His Signs clear to them; yet see in what ways they are deluded away from the truth! Al-Maida, Surah 5:73, 75, Qur’an That they said (in boast) “We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary the Apostle of Allah”; but they killed him not nor crucified him but so it was made to appear to them and those who differ therein are full of doubts with no (certain) knowledge but only conjecture to follow for of a surety they kille

Scarey Comment By Theology Professor Roger Olson

"The God of Calvinism scares me; I'm not sure how to distinguish him from the devil. If you've come under the influence of Calvinism, think about its ramifications for the character of God. God is great but also good. In light of all the evil and innocent suffering in the world, he must have limited himself." More of Casting Crowns

Their American Dream Music Video. The song will be "hard" for some people's tatstes, but the message is relevant and important. 1 Timothy 6:6-8 But godliness actually is a means of great gain, when accompanied by contentment. For we have brought nothing into the world, so we cannot take anything out of it either. And if we have food and covering, with these we shall be content...1 Timothy 6:17-19 Instruct those who are rich in this present world not to be conceited or to fix their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly supplies us with all things to enjoy. 18 Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, 19 storing up for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is life indeed.
